If you have made it to this site, there is a good chance that you are wondering why it is here, as this is not the official website of Deep Creek 2014. Allow us to clarify, as we profess our love for both one of the greatest sports in the world, but for one of the greatest sporting events in the history of American sports as well.
We are massive fans of whitewater canoe slalom. It is such a challenging sport that you cannot help but admire just what the athletes in those canoes and kayaks are capable of doing. The ability to steer yourself in water is difficult enough when there is no current to push and pull you around, let alone when you are in a whitewater scenario where these athletes have to find a way to maneuver with the greatest of skill and prevision.
Overall, it is our opinion that whitewater canoe slalom does not receive the love that it deserves in general. Even during the Olympics, the sport does not get the love and respect that it deserves, and that is even more true when it comes time for events like the world championships or other events where there simply is no media coverage of this display of skill.
Throughout this site, you will see information on the Deep Creek 2014 canoe slalom event, as well as information on the International Canoe Federation, so you can educate yourself and others on how fun the sport of canoe slalom is. Along the way, you will hear about past winners of the event, find out what kind of media coverage the event got, and plenty of other interesting information that we hope will open your eyes to a new stance on the sport as a whole.
