2013 USA Canoe/Kayak Whitewater Slalom Team Trials
Adventure Sports Center International in Deep Creek Lake, MD will host the 2013 USA Canoe/Kayak Slalom Team Trials and Deep Creek Open on May 17-19, 2013.
Athletes from all over the US will be competing along with 3 Olympic Gold Medalists.
The USACK Senior Team Trials is open to USA athletes and will serve as the selection for the 2013 National Slalom Team.
Admission is Free and there will be food, beer, great music in addition to Olympic level whitewater action.
This will be an event you won’t want to miss!

Open invitation to all regional and local media outlets to come and learn about media opportunities for the World Championships.
General presentation by Exec Director Todd Copley followed by VIP lunch at the Island Tent with brief presentation by Joe Jacobi, US gold medalist and current CEO of USA Canoe/Kayak.
Community Open House
May 18, 11-2pm
Opportunity for local businesses, civic organizations and Garrett County general public to learn more about the prep for the Worlds and see the infrastructure improvements necessary to host a World Championship.

Deep Creek 2014, the host organization producing The ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in September 2014, has announced that Joey Simson has joined the organization heading up social media, interactive marketing & web design and support. Joey is a recent graduate from West Virginia University where he obtained a BS in journalism with a focus on marketing. He has worked as a sales representative and social marketer at FRBO in McHenry MD and was also a marketing intern at Wisp Resort. Joey also brings broadcast product experience to Deep Creek 2014 from his experience at WBOY Channel 12 news in Clarksburg, WV.
Joey has been involved in the community as the Deep Creek Winter Sports Team freestyle coach and as a volunteer at Adventure Sports Center International. Joey’s primary objectives will be to build a substantial social media platform, work on ongoing website design, formulate print and promotional media, and build an in-depth community awareness program.
